Updated July 2024: We are now offering a Genmaicha tea from a new supplier. This tea is  organic and superior quality to what was previously offered.

Genmaicha is a very popular Japanese green tea with toasted rice kernels.

The Japanese sencha brings the rich and complex notes of wonderful green tea, while the rice kernels bring a truly unique experience that can best be described as toasted grain.

The first brewing of this tea will feature the toasted rice as the leading experience. The second brewing and beyond, the toasted rice becomes a rich complimentary note to the bold Japanese Sencha. If the first brew doesn’t pique your interest, toss it and try the second. The experience of each brewing is vastly different.

Brew @ 180°F using 2-3 grams per cup for 2-3 minutes

Ingredients: Japanese sencha green tea, roasted rice.
Origin: Shizuoka, Japan

Great tea but VERY earthy.

I did really enjoy this Tea, it was tasty and the caffeine wasn't super bad but the rice puffs and puffcorn add a very deep earthy tone to it that can be almost overpowering. I would definitely recommend trying this Tea especially if you're looking to balance a very sweet desert or enjoy much earthier teas. Cheers!
