Simple Earl Grey is a classic Earl Grey Black Tea that uses a wonderful South Indian Black Tea. When first opening this tea, you’ll smell the telltale citrus bergamot. But smell a second time and you’ll catch the scent of rich orange zest that is a little sweeter than other bergamots.

Enjoy this tea hot to enjoy it in the classic style or brew sun tea and serve with a slice of orange to really brighten this lovely tea.

Brew @ 200°F using 2-3 grams per cup for 3 minutes

Simple Earl Grey

I really enjoy the scent and flavor profile of this orange peel addition to regular Earl Grey. The bergamot smells and tastes like the real deal to me. The tea is fresh and smooth.

Even with additional citrus in the blend, this tea works well with the addition of milk without curdling.

This version of Earl Grey smells citrusy as well as malty to me, with an emphasis on orange. The bergamot is lighter to me in this than some others.

There’s a sweet- orange citrus linger, but it’s not overpowering. There are no floral or licorice or vanilla notes in this EG version.

I enjoyed mine with a small amount of sugar and milk.

The drawback is that the tea made as directed was too weak for me. I like it to measure 50% more or double the amount of tea scoop directed, so I’ll go through it quickly.

Delicious twist on earl grey

I am an earl grey dri kernel and prefer a nice balance without floral undertones. This blend was received as part of a monthly subscription box, and I LOVE it. Bright orange flavor blending with the bergamot. Works perfectly with milk for a latte, and is always crisp and fresh and vibrant. Loved it so much I ordered a whole bag after I finished the subscription pack.
