Ingredients:

  • ½ to 1 apple, peeled and cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 teaspoons of rooibos herbal tea or black tea
  • Dark cooking rum
  • Milk (optional)
  • Honey (optional)
Instructions: Wash and peel the apple. Add water, apple pieces, cinnamon and tea into a pan and boil over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Water will reduce to give you about one cup of tea. Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons of strong black tea
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1-2 cloves
  • One slice of dried orange
  • 2 cups of apple cider
Instructions: Add apple cider, black tea and spices to a pan and boil over low heat for 10 minutes. Strain.

Apples, cinnamon and green tea with an addition of other spices make for a light warming drink. You can exclude spices and use apples and green tea only.

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons of Gunpowder green tea
  • 1-2 fresh apples, peeled and cut into pieces
  • ½ inch of ginger
  • 1-2 cardamon pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cups of water
Instructions: Add all ingredients except green tea to a pan and simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes. Add tea leaves and steep for another 3 minutes. Strain and serve.
